Privacy Policy

At Star Technology, we value your privacy and commit to protecting your information. The information that we collect will only be used lawfully as per the Data Protection Act 2018. We are also fully compliant with the GDPR regulations.

We only collect the necessary information. We do this for two reasons: to process an order and to give you our best customer service possible.

We will not send you any unsolicited emails unless you have specifically consented to this.

We will offer you the opportunity to not receive marketing emails.

We will collect the following information from you:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Phone Number
  • Email address
  • Payment details
  • Profile and order history

Star Technology will never gather sensitive information without explicit consent. We will only hold information that is up to date and accurate. At any time, you can check what information we hold. Just get in touch with our Customer Services representatives. If there are any inaccuracies we will be happy to delete your information or amend it in accordance with the law and our security policy.

We will validate your payment details (debit, credit or charge cards) during your payment processing against third party databases. This is to ensure that your card is being used by you with your consent. This will be checked with your name, address and the personal information that you supplied us with during your order. By accepting our terms and condition, you consent to these checks. In these checks, we may disclose personal information to an Identity Reference Agency (IRA), which may subsequently keep records. We only use registered IRAs and you should be reassured that this only happens to verify your identity and that you have credit in your accounts to be charged. Please note, we don’t perform a credit check but the search could be logged on file. This will not affect your credit rating.

All the information that you provide is treated securely and in accordance with the laws and regulations of both the GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.

For processing payments with orders and for refunds, we use Pay Pal and World Pay. This includes bank card and credit card information along with your address. This is used in processing customer’s payments and in verifying identity.

We share your information with companies that are involved in delivering you your product. In such cases, Star Technology ensures that there is no other use of your data except in delivery and supporting maintenance or guarantees going forward. In most cases, these companies will not be able to send marketing to you unless you request it specifically. They will also be registered with the Data Protection Act 2018 and will ask you directly to opt-in to any marketing.
